Why are ipods and crumpler products more expensive then compared to Sony walkman and Deuter Walker?

Question by stsw95: Why are ipods and crumpler products more expensive then compared to Sony walkman and Deuter Walker?
I just cannot seem to understand why these products are more expensive the examples such as sony's walkman and Deuter walker. Is there anything special about them? Or is it that people pay for the product blindly and obliging to these not-worth the money products or can there be something behind them that people are attrated to it.
